Leiden University telephone services

Starting in 2026, the university is replacing fixed line phones by MS-Teams phone services. This means, that calls will come in on your computer running MS-Teams. In special cases such as labs, special Teams Telephones can be made available.

Installing MS-Teams

Teams is part of Microsoft Office 365, which is available on campus license linked to your university account. Please note, that we (STRW/LION computer group) do not run this service; for questions, contact the ISSC helpdesk.

If you have a recent Mac or Windows laptop, installing Teams (or all of Office 365) is the easiest way to go.

Installing MS-Teams on Linux

There is no Office 3645 for Linux, but there is a web app running on a chromium-based webbrowser (Google Chrome, Brave browser, Edge, …). A step-by-step instruction on how to get this to work is available here.
