====For your Laptop====
If you need additional software on your laptop and you need one of the standard campus licensed software packages you can drop by the computer group to obtain the software for that particular package.

General packages that we have available:
  * MacOS
    * Office 2019
  * Windows
    * Office 2019
    * Project 2019
    * Sharepoint 2019
    * Visio 2019

Research software packages. Note that for some of these packages to work, you need to connect to our license server, see [[general_software|this page.]]

    * Mathematica

====For your Desktop====
On your desktop many packages are installed, too many to make a list. The easiest way to find out if a particular program is availableis be typing in it program name on the command prompt. Alternatively you coud make a directory listing of directories where most of the software resides:
  * ''%%/usr/bin%%''
  * ''%%/usr/local/bin%%''
  * ''%%/software/sfinx/bin%%''
or look at the top lever directory
  * ''%%/software%%''

If you are missing a piece of software, just put in a request to https://helpdesk.strw.leidenuniv.nl and the computer group will install it on your personal desktop or system wide.
