====== Installing MS-Teams on Linux ====== There is no native MS-Teams app for Linux, but there is a chrome-based web app that has most of the fuctionality and acts (almost) like a normal desktop app. To install this on your Linux system, you will need to use a chromium-based browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Brave browser) and go to: https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/ Sign in using your university account (ULCN, in this case taking the form lastnameab@vuw.leidenuniv.nl, so with lastname and initials). This will require approval using the Microsoft Authenticator app. For any questions about ULCN or the authenticator app, you should go to the ISSC helpdesk since these are university-wide services which are not managed by the STRW/LION computer group. Once logged in, the page will look like this: This is a functioning version of Teams inside your web browser. But we can do better. In the right side of the address bar of the browser, you will see an icon which looks like a screen with a downward pointing arrow: If you hold the mouse over it, it will say: "Install Microsoft Teams". That is of course exactly what we want to do, so click this icon. You will be asked for confirmation, and once the download is done, Teams will open in its own window: What's more, the installation has also created a shortcut icon on your desktop to use the app, without having to start the browser first. ===== Other web apps from Microsoft ===== At the moment, this same procedure can be followed to install Outlook and OneDrive web apps as well.
